Self-reliant India: Security of soldiers and income of farmers will increase, know the achievements of Indian scientists this week

 New Delhi. The first and most important step in achieving the goal of self-reliance is the discovery of new or improved indigenous technologies. The discovery of any new technology or method by the scientists of the country, which is capable of answering the questions facing the country, helps a lot in making the country and the economy an edge over other countries and economies. This is the reason why the Government of India is constantly focusing on research and development along with the self-reliant campaign. Now the situation is such that almost every few days scientists are coming out with a new technology. Let's take a look at the achievements of Indian scientists that came out this week.  

Economical technology to make fertilizer from human hair

This week, the Ministry of Science and Technology has informed that the country's scientists have discovered a cheap technique to make animal feed and fertilizer from human hair, chicken feathers and waste wool. ScientistIn language it is called keratin waste. This technique has been discovered by Professor AB Pandit, Vice-Chancellor of the Institute of Chemical Technology Mumbai and his team. According to scientists, these wastes are actually cheap sources of amino acids and proteins, which are either buried or burnt, polluting the area. At the same time, the existing technology of converting it into fertilizer or fodder is expensive. The team has now discovered a technology that is only a third of the cost of existing technology. That is, with the new technology, not only pollution can be stopped, but also cheap animal feed and fertilizers can be prepared. Large-scale production will reduce the cost of fertilizers and fodder on the one hand, while people involved in poultry and sheep rearing will also get a new source of income.

New technology developed for the safety of soldiers

For the first time in India, a high quality transparent ceramic has been developed, which will be used to keep soldiers and security forces safe in difficult places. This transparent ceramics or in simple language, glasses that can be seen through can be used in soldiers' helmets, face shield glasses etc. Such ceramics are made all over the world, although their supply is limited or restricted due to their use in military works, although after it is developed in India, now the concern about its supply may end soon. This ceramics has been prepared by the researchers of ARCI. This product has been made before, although it was only at the laboratory level. Now ceramics can be prepared at such a level that it can be used in many applications to test it.

Energy efficient bricks will be made from debris
Scientists of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) have discovered a technique by which energy efficient bricks can be prepared from construction and demolition waste i.e. C&D waste. The annual consumption of bricks and blocks in India is about 900 million tonnes. The construction industry generates a huge amount (100 million tonnes per year) of C&D waste or debris. This process emits a large amount of carbon. With the new technology, not only this debris can be used properly. Also, the environment will get a lot of help.  


What will be the benefit to the industry

Technologies developed by scientists are now being transferred to the private sector. To deal with the Corona crisis, government institutions have tied up with many private companies for the transfer of many technologies. After research by scientists, handing over the technology to the industry helps in starting their commercial production. At the same time, after completing the domestic supply, the private sector can export these products and support the economy.
